Grand Arcade Christmas lights switch-on

Don't miss Grand Arcade's festive lights get flicked on for Christmas

Glitter, bright lights and big hair (thanks to Father Christmas) combine on 18 November at Grand Arcade when a host of choirs and musicians will build up the festive spirit from midday, with the lights on at 4pm.

Cambridge Theatre Group will show extracts from their new show Peter Pan, a Stagecoach choir and dance group will perform, with the Rock Choir doing the final build up to the big switch on.

Stores will be open for festive shopping, with many serving mince pies and Christmas drinks.

And to make sure the event goes off with a bang, the arcade’s confetti canons have been given extra power this year. They are now able to throw glitter up to 12 metres into the air, to cover the mall in stars.

Radio Cambridgeshire’s Jeremy Sallis will be on hand to help Father Christmas do the honours at 4pm.
