In Assassins, writers Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman create a grotesque, make-believe world in which killer and would-be-killers including John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald meet, interact and inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.
Rather than a show about shooting the president, Assassins is about the bizarre, frightened and dysfunctional individuals behind the bullets.
