Known for their lavishly entertaining performances, this Oregon-based 12-piece orchestra plays a wildly diverse array of tunes and always draws a mixed crowd.
Praised by the Daily Telegraph as ‘on a mission to bring back romance and beauty,’ they’re equally at home in smoky bars and on big concert stages.
They’ll be joined on the night by special guests The von Trapps – the real life great-grandchildren of Maria and Georg von Trapp! The four youngsters, Sofi (25), Melanie (23), Amanda (22) and August (19) are continuing the family business of music making and have so far toured over five continents, performing in the Sidney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl.
The four siblings began by singing Austrian and American folk songs taught to them by their grandfather, Werner von Trapp (portrayed as Kurt “the incorrigible” in The Sound of Music), at the family home in Kalispell, Montana. The four simply knew their grandfather as ‘Opa,’ and when he suffered a stroke 12 years ago they made a recording of the songs to cheer him up, never expecting it would inspire a new musical legacy.
Tickets start at £26.50, starts at 7.30pm.
