An evening of inspirational short films made by seafaring adventurers, thrill seekers and oceanographers who live for the sea’s salt spray, it comes to the Corn Exchange on 12 October.
Among the screenings on this year’s programme is Kiwi Breeze, which follows London-based New Zealander Steve on a mission to sail 42,000km to his homeland. His vessel? A 44ft yacht he’s been toiling over in his back garden for almost a decade. Find out whether he achieves his dream plus join a close-knit group of leading surfers in The Big Wave Project. Five years in the making, this film charts the progress of the crew as they attempt to ride the world’s biggest wave, eliciting stories of personal glory, near-death experiences, the humbling power of the ocean and of ultimate personal glory.
There’s also a free prize giveaway to win ocean-related goodies at every screening.
