Cheffins has partnered with Cambridge bakery Fitzbillies to offer one bidder the chance to enjoy a year’s supply of Fitzbillies Chelsea buns as part of the firm’s 200-year Anniversary Charity Auction, with all proceeds going to The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
Fitzbillies, a Cambridge institution since 1920, has kept its original Chelsea bun recipe unchanged for more than a century. This auction lot gives the winner the chance to enjoy one iconic bun every day for a whole year, whether popping in daily, ordering weekly for office treats, or hosting a bun-filled celebration.
“We’re thrilled to offer this once-in-a-lifetime prize. Fitzbillies Chelsea buns are part of Cambridge life, and now one lucky winner can enjoy 365 of them across the year. It’s perfect for fans who never get enough of our famously sticky buns — and it’s all for a wonderful cause,” said Alison Wright owner of Fitzbillies.
Martin Millard, equity director at Cheffins, added: “For our 200-year Charity Auction, we wanted to partner with a business that’s as iconic and resilient as Cheffins. Fitzbillies Chelsea buns are part of Cambridge’s history and culture, and we’re sure this lot will be irresistible to locals. It’s not just a delicious prize, it’s a real celebration of Cambridge life.”
Also to be included in the auction is a series of other money-can’t-buy opportunities, including the chance to name a character in Sir Jeffrey Archer’s final standalone novel; a six-night stay in an exclusive resort in the Bahamas; Six Nations tickets; a Porsche driving experience; and a week-long stay in a privately-owned bothy in Scotland.
Cheffins will be welcoming bids online from 7 to 23 November, at www.cheffins.co.uk
