Acclaimed Cambridge theatre company Corkscrew Theatre, known for bringing West End-level productions to Cambridge audiences, has announced its autumn production of A Mirror by award-winning playwright Sam Holcroft.
Running from 24 to 27 September at the Atrium Theatre in Chesterton, Lesley Ford directs a top-tier cast including David John, Will Males, Sharon Rose Goldtzvik, Dan Aspel and Christian Burton. “This play is everything you could want in a piece of theatre: darkly funny, intricately woven, and extremely relevant,” says Lesley. “It’s an honour to be the first company to bring this modern classic to the stage following its premiere production. With a cast and creative team representing the cream of the crop of Cambridge theatre, audiences are in for a real treat.”
Following its blockbuster world premiere in London at the Almeida Theatre in 2023, A Mirror transferred to the West End in 2024 to rave reviews and sold-out crowds. The play invites audiences to the wedding of Leyla and Joel, but it’s soon clear that all is not what it seems. A Mirror is a deeply human exploration of censorship, free speech, and making and consuming art under totalitarian regimes.
