Before the main festival gets underway, running 28 August to 7 September, movie lovers are invited to experience a series of special sunset screenings, being held at Grantchester Meadows over the August bank holiday weekend.
Bring a rug, a picnic and a bottle (if you like) from 6pm and snuggle down under the stars as three giant inflatable Airscreens are erected before your eyes, showing three different movies each night.
Like a silent disco, you’ll each be given a pair of headphones (better still, bring your own) allowing you to tune into whichever film takes your fancy. There’ll be food and drink on hand from local vendors, and the films start around 8pm.
Saturday 23 August:
Lego Movie
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Cinema Paradiso
Sunday 24 August:
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Flash Gordon
Things To Come
Tickets are £15 (£12 concessions and Arts Picturehouse members), with a £5 deposit for the headphones. Buy on site on the night, or pre-book online.
