East Anglian auction house Cheffins will be hosting a free art and antiques valuation day at Shelford Rugby Club this November.
Taking place on 27 November from 10am – 3pm, Cheffins is inviting as many people as possible to attend the event where specialists will offer free valuations of art, antiques, jewellery, ceramics, glass, rugs, furniture, silver and collectors’ items.
Hosting some thirty-plus auctions every year from its dedicated Cambridge salerooms, Cheffins has a long history in the region and a strong track record in selling art, antiques and collectibles from the city and the surrounding villages.
The valuations are free of charge and with no obligation to sell, but clients will be welcome to leave goods for sale with our team on the day.

Martin Millard, Head of Fine Art at Cheffins says: “We are excited to be bringing the Cheffins team of specialists to Shelford Rugby Club. Cambridge and the surrounding area have always been the mainstay of Cheffins, yielding some of the best fresh to market art and antiques.
“Valuation days have often yielded rare or unusual painting or a valuable piece of jewellery which has been locked away for decades. We never know what we might come across, so we would like to encourage people to bring along anything they think could be of interest.”
“All items are welcome; for example, jewellery, watches, paintings, ceramics, books, works of art and so on. We will also be able to arrange home visits for collections or items which are too large to be brought to the valuation days.”
Cheffins has sourced and sold a series of high value art and antiques from Great Shelford itself as well as the surrounding area, such as paintings by Salvador Dali, a letter from Jane Austen, a bronze ostrich which achieved over £1.2 million, as well as large-scale private collections from country houses nationwide.
Noel Woodgate, President of Shelford Rugby Club comments: “We are delighted to have Cheffins as our main sponsor and are growing that relationship to our mutual benefit, this is another step in that process. As a community club we are working to build value with all our partners without whom we would not be able to function as well as we do.”
