Get ready for a dose of Haydn, Bruch and Bartok

“Something brilliant and exciting” was the brief behind City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s return to Cambridge for the first time in seven years. And that means a dose of Haydn, Bruch and Bartok, whose Concerto for Orchestra is described by CBSO’s chief executive Stephen Maddock as “one of the most thrilling rides in 20th century music”.

Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy similarly “plays around with folk tunes,” while Haydn’s Symphony No 7 completes the programme.

Catch CBSO at the Corn Exchange on 18 January. Tickets from £32.
