A unique time capsule of Victorian working-class art and life, David Parr House is ensuring that the public can still enjoy its fascinating offering by presenting an exciting new way to experience the site. Thanks to a grant from Historic England, David Parr House will be launching innovative online 3D tours, offering a real-time digital exploration of the house. The new tours will offer the same personal experience as the physical tours, along with additional content only available on the online platform. On booking, visitors will be sent a link to connect with their guides for an hour-long tour, with the option to explore the house independently and access further information through ‘hotspots’ embedded in every room.
Pilgrim Trust Curator Charlotte Woodley said: “at the beginning of lockdown it was heart-breaking to cancel a whole season of fully booked tours and we were worried about finding a safe solution for visitors and guides going forward as the house is so small and the personal nature of the tours is so important to us.”
