If you’re out and about in Cambridge this month, be sure to look out for lone shoes left around the city.
No, they aren’t the discarded footwear of night-time revellers (well, some of them might be), but part of a promotional campaign by House of Fraser.
Yesterday (15 October) the department store launched ‘Cambridge Cinderellas’, celebrating the opening of a pioneering new House of Fraser store opening today (16th) at Caffe Nero, Fitzroy Street, near the Grafton.
The shoes, from brands such as Howick, Linea, LK Bennett, Hugo Boss and Kurt Geiger, have been hidden in quintessential Cambridge locations and, when found, will enable the finder to claim a free pair in their size.
Alex Delaney of 18 Feet & Rising says: “For the campaign we wanted to create something that was unique to its location and captured a sense of that place; it’s history, architecture, people or the feeling you have when you are there. But at the same time it was important for us to retain the irreverent and playful tone that we’ve introduced to the brand – something that gets people excited and curious.”
