Wysing Arts Centre’s annual festival of music and sound – Wysing Polyphonic – is back this month. Its latest iteration, Under Ether, has been curated by Anne Duffau (also known as A—Z), and focuses on the abstract, speculative and esoteric. On 4 September, an intimate day of open-air performances, music and readings will crown the festival, exploring themes of optimism, resistance and alternative realities through ten hours of immersive entertainment.
Also on at Wysing Arts Centre this month is Caroline Wendling’s Hypoteinousa, an exhibition which takes its title from the Greek word meaning ‘stretching under’. It’s a metaphorical gathering of the many voices of Wysing, presented in the form of a ‘sound walk’ through the centre’s rural landscape. Visit the website for more information.
