Cambridgeshire’s leading wedding venue South Farm has raised over £15,000 at their recent charity fundraiser, South Farm Summer Fiesta, held in aid of The British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal
The team at the award-winning wedding venue held the hugely successful festival-style event on 4 June. Over 270 visitors enjoyed a sunny afternoon of live music and entertainment in the stunning gardens and barns, along with chilled drinks, ice-cream and a delicious lunch buffet menu created by South Farm’s chefs.
Musical entertainment across two garden stage areas was put on by a diverse range of musicians including the uplifting sounds of the Nostalgia Steel Band, a choral performance of popular music from Phoenix Chorus, a saxophone and DJ set of dance anthems by Dom Plays Sax and DJ Mike Readings, plus atmospheric guitar and vocal performances by the talented Laura’s Paper Heart and Sam Lewis.
Guests were also treated to a surprise visit from ponies, Honeybell and Tinkerbell from London and Cambridge Pony Parties, along with a pop quiz by South Farm’s House DJ Gary and incredible mysterious magic by Matthew Le Motte!
To boost the fundraising total, South Farm held a very successful silent auction and raffle with fantastic prizes, while DJ Mike Readings compered the entire event and played an incredible set on the main tent event stage.
General Manager Becky, who masterminded the event, said “It was a wonderful day – our suppliers, staff, local businesses and guests have all been so generous in helping us make it a great success. Many of our team donated their wages for the day and it was brilliant to see all our guests having a fantastic time in the sunshine.
“The icing on the cake is the incredible £15,000 we have raised for The British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. We were delighted to welcome Rosie Gutteridge, Patron of The British Red Cross Cambridgeshire, to join us and say a few words about the great work The British Red Cross are doing in Ukraine. On behalf of South Farm I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to make our Summer Fiesta a great fundraising success for this very worthy cause.”
