Cambridge-based personal trainer Amy Thompson gives some top tips
1. Make the most of your outside time for the day: go for a run, a fast walk or a bike ride that gets your heart pumping and your endorphins flowing! This will have a huge pay-off for your mood and energy levels.
2. Joe Wicks’ YouTube PE sessions at 9am are a great way to start the day and have been a huge hit already, with millions watching along. You find them on his YouTube channel The Body Coach TV. There are plenty more online classes to choose between, many of them free or very affordable and with workouts to suit every taste that you can do from your very own house or garden.
3. Another great idea is to schedule in regular movement breaks during your working day. You might feel a bit silly at first, but getting up and having a little dance or jump about will leave you feeling refreshed and improve focus when you return to your work.

4. We’re all missing our friends during lockdown, so why not get some tunes on and have a virtual dance party? Platforms like zoom.us are great for this kind of thing – and not only will you feel like you’re socialising with your mates, but you’ll be getting some exercise in. Win-win!
5. You could also challenge friends, colleagues or teammates to a plank, press up or sit up challenge: the competitive element is a good way to keep yourself motivated!
