Serving up a feast for your eyes and your belly
Strawberries and cream, the odd alcoholic beverage, a few volleys and a smashing time… Wimbledon is back on Monday, 2 July, for two weeks of superb tennis, complete with (hopefully) Andy Murray just back from injury.
And this year you can catch all the live coverage from the BBC on a big screen, thanks to Strawberries and Screen, delivered by the Cambridge BID team.
A large LED screen will be next to The Tamburlaine Hotel on Station Road, with free seating for 100 viewers on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you work or live near the station, you can pop along for an al fresco lunch, as foodPark will be complementing the world-class play from London with a food truck each day from Monday to Thursday throughout the fortnight, plus the usual foodPark collective of foodie goodies in their regular Friday slot.
Becky Burrell, Marketing and Commercial Manager at Cambridge BID, is looking forward to the action: “Wimbledon offers a fantastic excuse to take a proper lunch break, clear your head and enjoy the sunshine. Even if you’re too busy to step away from your desk over lunch, there’s still the opportunity to treat yourself to some early evening tennis before heading home.”
So put a fresh spin on your lunch break and grab a slice of the action (and maybe some cake). Enjoy!
