Films, food and al fresco shopping at the Market Square
Cambridge BID’s cinema in the sun (hopefully) returns just a year after it started and quickly became an institution, with family film screenings and night markets in Market Square.
The first one for 2018, which, as before, is still free, is a double-feature on 18 May, with Sing! at 6.30pm followed by Meet the Parents at 8.30pm, which is a gentle nod to the Royal Wedding the next day. On the 19th the wedding will be broadcast live on the big screen in the square, which will be decorated with bunting to mark the occasion.
More than 50 local businesses and pop-ups will be at the returning night market on the 18th, selling a variety of street food, drinks, clothing and unique gifts.
Limited seating is provided on a first-come-first-served basis, so get their early, or take along a portable chair.
Becky Burrell, marketing and commercial manager at Cambridge BID, said: “These events were so popular last year. They’re for all the family and will be happening every month over the summer.”
The event is under the new Love Cambridge brand, in association with Cambridge City Council.
