Shepreth Tiger Day
One of Shepreth Wildlife Park’s most popular characters, Amba the tiger, turns 17 on 4 August and the park is throwing a big party to celebrate. Tiger Day is a regular feature at the Park, and is now in its 11th year. Come and meet Amba and Rana, her handsome partner, and help raise money for tiger conservation throughout the world. Cambridge Utd – aka ‘the Amber Army’ – will be entering the tiger enclosure at feeding time (rather them than us!) and there’ll be live entertainment from The Young Actor’s Company and singer Melody Causton, plus a bouncy castle, magic show, crafts and more. www.sheprethwildlifepark.co.uk

This is one of the National Trust’s 50 Things To Do Before You’re 13 ¾ – and an excellent excuse to stay up late! Takes place 25 August (8-10pm) and 4 September (7.30-9.30pm), £4. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/wimpole-estate
