Enjoy cocktails and culinary adventures at this neighbourhood favourite
We read a lot about hidden gems, but Cambridge Cookery School’s lovely café really is rather tricky to find unless you know where you’re going – but trust us, it’s worth getting there! Though the school has been doing a roaring trade with their exceptional cookery classes since back in 2008, the café itself opened just a year ago, tucked away on Homerton Road (just off Hills Road). Exuding Scandi cool, the café serves vibrant salads, handmade croissants, freshly baked cakes, brunches with Bloody Marys and light lunches dishes made from seasonal and local produce.
They’ve recently added another string to their bow by launching as a ‘neighborhood restaurant’ on Saturday evenings, when the kitchen will be open late and serving up delicious sharing platters and cocktails. On offer are Middle Eastern, Scandinavian, Italian and vegetarian platters, all of which come with handmade sour dough, rye or flat breads, and feature small hot dish on them in addition to cold selections. British cheeses and a selection of mini desserts will also be available.
