The family of Greene King pubs has some dazzlingly delicious fare on the menu this season
From the stately, yet snug interiors of The Eagle, to the hip and lively atmosphere over at The Grain & Hop Store, each of the Greene King family of pubs is well worth a visit. And, if you need any further incentive, The Eagle, The Grain & Hop Store and The Bath House have each cooked up a brand-new menu which will be difficult to resist.
First up, the historic watering hole The Eagle has honed a feast of classic favourites, with salt and pepper squid, king prawn chorizo and beer-battered halloumi to start, followed by mains of lip-smacking beer-battered Atlantic cod and chips, pulled mushroom chilli or – the roast with the most – Shropshire white French trim chicken. You can also opt for a cheesy sharing plate of baked British camembert or a British cheese board. Finish the meal off with a fruit punch panna cotta. Great British pub food brought to you fresh from the kitchen.
Serving up social food for all occasions, at The Grain & Hop Store dive into small plates of pulled pork tacos and red pepper houmous flatbread or sharers of camembert fondue, with Omni plant ‘fish’ and chips, pea, mint and courgette risotto, gochujang salmon and nduja burger on the cards for mains. Polish it off with frozen custard or pink lemonade posset – a vegan-leaning menu which promises bold flavours.
There’s more feasting with friends to be had at The Bath House, a classic pub going above and beyond on quality. Tuck into the British cheese board, beer-battered haddock goujons, crispy squid, British farm assured chicken wings, sweet potato and avocado bruschetta and Karaage sticky chicken. Follow this with a main of Ezme marinated chicken salad, seabass chowder and a chicken katsu burger – and end your night with a delicious sharing dessert.
