If you head down to your local pub this month, you could be on TV. Greene King IPA is launching an innovative new advertising campaign, which asks pub landlords to capture the spirit of their pubs on film, using GoPro cameras. Local residents are invited to turn up and show their support for their local – in exchange for a possible taste of fame.
Chris Houlton, managing director of Greene King Brewing & Brands, explains: “Authenticity is at the core of this Greene King IPA campaign and what better way to bring this to life than to hand control directly over to our licensees to capture those genuine pub moments that occur between real customers and communities?”
An industry first, the ‘To The Pub’ campaign will include 50 establishments up and down the country, putting customers at its heart. Three pubs are taking part in the area: The Plough and Fleece, Horningsea, (tomorrow, 21 August); The Fox in Burwell (28 August) and The Rising Sun, Isleham (31 August).
The finished result will be launched via a microsite throughout October and November. In addition, three of the final adverts will be selected to air on TV up and down the country from September.
