Cambridgeshire gin distillery launches at beer festival

If you fancy a tipple or two over the course of the late Bank Holiday weekend, make your way to The Crown Inn, Broughton, which is hosting a huge beer festival from 26-28 May. With over eighteen ales to sip your way around in the large marquee, plus live music and plenty of tasty food, it’s gearing up to be a great weekend.

We’re especially looking forward to sampling the wares of Roundwood Gin, a new local distillery who’ll be showcasing their range at the festival. It’s the first chance to try and buy Roundwood’s extra small-batch gin, which is made near Abbots Ripton and created using botanicals inspired by the surrounding woodland.

Giving a subtle woodland twist to the classic London Dry recipe, the gin blends botanicals including elderberries and elderflower, creating a perfectly balanced gin that is exquisitely smooth, dry and citrusy, with bursts of berries and delicate floral notes – perfect for a summer’s day G&T!
