There’s plenty on offer at Cambridge Wine Merchants’ Cherry Hinton Road branch this month, beginning with the latest instalment of the popular worldwide wine tasting sessions on 4 March. Steve from the Cambridge Wine Academy will lead a guided tour around Spain’s sunny wine regions, sampling a fine selection of wines along the way. The evening kicks off at 7.15pm, and tickets cost £25. On 7 March there’s Tunes & Tapas, where you can sample a set menu of four tapas dishes from Que Rico Tapas – along with a carafe of wine, naturally. There will also be live music from local musician Paul McCaffrey, so you can be sure of a warm and lively atmosphere in the wine bar. Tapas fans will be pleased to hear that there is a second tapas-themed event coming up this month: on 18 March you can enjoy a wine and tapas tasting session with a special emphasis on Spanish gastronomy and wines, particularly rioja. It’s priced at £40 per person, which includes five wines and five tapas dishes.
