Tom Kerridge is just one of the celebrity chefs backing Meatball Month, which runs through November to raise funds for the Muscle Help Foundation’s Muscle Dreams.
These are transformational experiences for young children with muscular dystrophy.
Kerridge is joined by star chefs Angela Hartnett, Ken Hom, Tom Parker-Bowles and chef to the royals Mark Flanagan in the bid to ignite the nation’s appetite for meatballs, and at the same time encourage fundraising by throwing your own meatball party or meal, or dropping in to restaurants taking part with a meatball special or two on the menu.
Local restaurants and cafes taking part are Amelie, The Gog, Provenance, Scotts, Fitzbillies, Cambridge Cookery School, Prana and Hare on the Green in Brampton. £1 per dish will be donated to the charity.
The butchery at The Gog will also be selling meatballs and they have a special event on 15 November.
If you fancy taking the plunge and going all out for meatballs at home, there will be loads of details on the campaign’s website from 1 November, including a wide range of recipes from chefs including Kerridge, Hartnett and Hom.
