It’s back to school time, but forget the three Rs, let’s revise the three Ps (Pinots), says Grape Britannia’s Matt Hodgson

Heppington Vineyard Pinot Gris 2020, £16.49

Fresh but sophisticated, with white melon and floral notes, and a refreshing palate of lemon sherbet and citrus rind. From an up-and-coming Kentish vineyard.

Stopham Estate Barrel Fermented Pinot Blanc 2019, £22.99

This West Sussex gem has apple on the nose, and melon and citrus on the palate, complemented with additional aromas and flavours of cream and vanilla from the oak.

New Hall Vineyards Pinot Noir 2018, £14.99

A lighter red from Essex, clocking in at 11% ABV, packed with cherry, blackberry and menthol – plus raspberry, cherry and savoury flavours. Try it with pork schnitzel or bean cassoulet.

All the wines mentioned above can be purchased at Grape Britannia on Arbury Road. grapebritannia.co.uk
