Alfresco drinking spot opens for new season at new site
Drinks shop Thirsty relaunches its wildly popular Biergarten for the season at 3pm on 4 May – and they’re planning a weekend of fun to celebrate. Having occupied the riverside garden of the Museum of Technology (and our hearts) for the duration of last summer, the team are back with a new site and lots of new beer and foodie treats for 2018.
This time around, they’re bringing their Berlin-style vibe to the garden of St Giles’ Church (Castle Street) where they’ll be offering a holy trinity of fantastic craft beers, topnotch street food and oodles of outdoor seating for soaking up the rays. Family and dog-friendly, it’s promising once again to become a must-visit on the Cambridge summer boozing circuit.
Food on offer for opening weekend includes artisan pizzas from Fired Up and vibrant veggie cuisine from Wandering Yak (Friday), gourmet burgers from Steak & Honour and Mexican bites from Al Chile (Saturday), and Nomadi’s pizzas, amazing pastry-based treats from Pie Central plus coffees from Beanissimo on Sunday.
