Cambridge University’s talented comedy group hit the Arts Theatre for two nights only

Founded in 1880 and counting comedy greats including John Cleese, Eric Idle, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie among its alumni, the Cambridge Footlights are a cut above your usual student comedy troupe.

In fact, the group is regarded as something of a finishing school for the cream of British comic entertainers – so you can guarantee that the pressure is on for each new crop undergrads preparing to tread the hallowed boards. Invariably though, they more than live up to expectations, delighting audiences with their offbeat sketches, skits, stand-up and songs.

Following the sell-out success of 2016’s offering, Footlights are back with two nights of comedy at the Arts Theatre on 12 and 19 March.
Tickets are £13-£23.
