Music on the River, a glorious combination of live music, punting and drinks – courtesy of a floating bar! – comes to the Cam on select Friday nights, starting on 19 July.
Let’s Go Punting and Traditional Punting Company have joined forces to offer four musical events featuring five hugely talented musicians, on board your punt, while you sip your way into the weekend.
Foot-stomping covers hero Joe Bailey (above) gets things started on 19 July, with a fresh mix of modern and classic hits, combined with rhythmic guitar and diverse vocals.
On 9 August it’s the turn of another Cambridge-based musician, Max Bianco, the singer/guitarist from Max Bianco and the Bluehearts, while on the 23rd singer/beatboxer Ukulele Simon takes to the river. Harmony-filled Americana/folk duo Roswell (pictured right) round things off on 30 August.
The punt firms have teamed up with The Punt and Pole, a floating bar offering the finest wines, prosecco, beers and soft drinks that will never be far from your punt, with 20 per cent off for Music on the River customers.
Punts depart at 7.30pm from La Mimosa landing stage and then glide along the Cam, showcasing seven colleges, all while you take in the catchy melodies.
A shared music tour ticket costs £17.50.
