Taking place from 23 October to 1 December, this year’s Cambridge Music Festival Autumn Series spans six concerts in some of the city’s most historic chapels and concert halls.
Opening the series with Schubert’s Four Impromptus D899 and D935 at Trinity College Chapel is Imogen Cooper, who retires from public performance in early 2027, making this a last chance to hear one of the great Schubert interpreters of our time live in Cambridge.
Also in October, The Tallis Scholars (pictured above), conducted by Peter Phillips and Daniel Hyde, bring their pure-toned polyphony to King’s College Chapel with Byrd’s Mass for Five Voices interspersed with motets by Lassus, Gombert and Josquin.
The series then continues through November with the BBC Singers and Choir of King’s College, the Danel Quartet and Marc-André Hamelin, concluding on 1 December with a specially curated performance of North Indian classical raag by the Jasdeep Singh Degun Quintet.
