Over more than a decade, The Curiosity Fair has become a much-loved destination for shoppers seeking vintage treasures, antiques, makers and independent businesses.

Founded by Jo Atherton, whose passion for vintage style, individuality and sustainable living inspired the idea, The Curiosity Fair has grown steadily over the past 11 years into a thriving series of events with a loyal following of customers and traders alike.

Blending vintage, antiques, retro finds, collectables and mid-century pieces alongside talented makers, crafters and local artisans, each fair offers an eclectic and carefully selected mix designed to encourage discovery and creativity. Visitors come not only to shop, but to socialise and connect.

Jo says she is continually amazed that the fairs are still growing strong more than a decade on. “I started The Curiosity Fair simply because I loved vintage pieces and wanted to create an event where people could find unique items and meet passionate independent traders. Seeing it still thrive 11 years later is incredibly rewarding.”

The fairs are currently held at Manor Farm, Bourn near Cambridge and the David Rayner Building at Scottsdales, Great Shelford: venues that have become popular meeting places for collectors, creatives and families. The events also support important local causes, including The Wildlife Trust and the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre based at the David Rayner Building.

Sustainability sits at the heart of Jo’s approach. With a strong emphasis on buying local and shopping independently, the fairs champion small businesses while encouraging recycling, upcycling and conscious consumption.

Alongside the established fairs, Jo is now organising A Country Market at Manor Farm, Bourn on 17 April, featuring a fresh new format — approximately two-thirds food producers alongside local craftspeople and artisans — celebrating regional produce and creativity together in one vibrant event.

More than just markets, The Curiosity Fair events have become community gatherings that celebrate craftsmanship, sustainability and the joy of discovering something truly unique.
