New Cambridge residents set to receive free bus travel from Stagecoach East
Tenants who move into properties which have been let by Carter Jonas Brashaws, Cheffins and TuckerGardner estate agents will receive a personalised invitation to travel by bus, complete with a pre-loaded smartcard good for five free days’ travel and a timetable with bus routes that serve the residents’ new home addresses. The free days can be used by different people within the same household, and the offer doesn’t have to be used on consecutive days, being valid for up to six months. Furthermore the smartcard on which the travel is booked can be topped up online at the end of the period, meaning that tenants can get the cheapest available fares.
Andy Campbell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East, commented “By offering free bus travel for five days, we’re encouraging people to consider using a more sustainable alternative to the car, and one that helps to reduce congestion in the city.”
For this first instance, the three estate agents chosen by Stagecoach are all very pleased to be involved. Stagecoach East anticipates that over 250 Cambridge households will enjoy free travel over the coming months as a result of this partnership.
