One of the most sampled artists in history, Roy Ayres is a legend in the world of funk and soul. Best known as a vibraphonist and vocalist, he first made his musical mark in an era of great American soul artists which also included James Brown and Marvin Gaye.
His calling card, the immortal Everybody Loves the Sunshine, is a dance floor-filler to this day, and continues to get reworked by artists from across the musical spectrum. You can catch him doing his thing on 19 August at Cambridge Junction. Tickets are £27.50.
