The Carpenters Arms has reopened its doors ready to welcome you to its newly refurbished eatery and accommodation.
Advertorial
Over 250 years old, The Carpenters Arms holds a long tradition of serving the community in and around Great Wilbraham. Now, the much-loved local has been given a refresh that respects its traditional features whilst achieving a spectacular new look.
At the heart of the renovation is the new eatery, which boasts bright, colourful interiors and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the gardens in multiple directions, giving the space a light, airy feel. History and modernity meet in a combination of features that allude to the pub’s history, with exposed wooden beams, warm oaks and open fires, and modern elements such as bold prints that are rich in colour and texture. The old stable block has also been converted into a new kitchen which opens out into the restaurant – adding atmosphere and a touch of theatre to guests’ dining experience.
Just a short drive from Cambridge, Newmarket, Wandlebury Country Park, Ely and Saffron Walden, The Carpenters Arms is an ideal bolthole for a Cambridgeshire staycation, with delicious food, inviting accommodation, and plenty to see and do.
Tuck in!
The Carpenters Arms’ stunning Spring menu champions modern British dishes made with seasonal produce and the highest quality ingredients. Highlights include starters such as Cromer Crab Tartlet and Cambridge Asparagus, plus tasty mains including Chalk Stream Trout, Chargrilled Lamb and the Roast Chicken ‘Waldorf’ sharing dish – a stand-out guest favourite. Not forgetting dessert, of course, with pleasing puds such as the Tosier Chocolate Torte with Fen Farm mascarpone.
Make yourself at home
The pub has four bedrooms on its first floor which provide a delightfully cosy spot to retreat to after a day of sightseeing or sampling the delicious food on offer. Matching the fun, vibrant décor found throughout the pub, each bedroom boasts bold, colourful headboards and blinds, set against calming blue tones. All bedrooms have newly fitted bathrooms or wet rooms, and three of the four rooms are dog friendly.
