New Cambridge Singers continue their season with a celebration of Christmas that will include an entertaining mixture of seasonal music, from Poulenc’s hauntingly beautiful Quatre Motets pour le temps de Noel to Stanford’s exuberant Latin Magnificat, plus popular and less well-known festive tunes.
The choir return to Newmarket on 10 December, serving up wonderful music and festive refreshments in the atmospheric setting of St Mary’s Church, and then to Cambridge’s Emmanuel United Reformed Church on the 14th, where they will by local children’s choir King’s Junior Voices, and their director Lynette Alcántara.
New Cambridge Singers’ Music Director Graham Walker commented, “It is the first time we have collaborated with a children’s choir and we are thrilled to be partnering with King’s Junior Voices at this special time of the year. It’s always lovely to make a return visit, on this occasion to Newmarket, and bring our music to a familiar audience.”
Tickets are £10 for the Newmarket concert and £15 for the Cambridge concert (under-18s go free at both events).
