Locals have been reporting strange noises and occurrences after a laboratory break-in nearby, and rumours of a deadly outbreak are rife. Could it be that, once again, Cambridge is about to find itself in the grip of a Zombie Apocalypse?
The team behind the brilliant Zombie Evacuation Race return for another thrilling chase, set to plunge participants into a movie-style scenario where the undead lurk, ready to pounce. Racers are given three ‘lives’, attached to a belt, and must make it round the course with at least one remaining. All the while, convincingly made-up ‘zombies’ (some dopey Shaun of the Dead-style, others speedy 28 Days Later-style) will leap from the shadows intent on snatching your lives away.
The 5K race, with some obstacles, takes place at Milton Country Park with heats setting off throughout the day. It’s open to runners and non-runners alike, and fancy dress is absolutely welcome. Rather than a serious race, this one’s a bit of fun and a good starting point for reluctant racers: trust me, even if you hate exercise, when you’re being chased by a snarling zombie you’ll find you can run like the clappers.
Entry to the race is £50 per person.
