Embrace the great outdoors with over 80 nature-based activities at Cambridge Nature Festival. Fun for all the family
After a successful first run, the festival returns to bring us closer to the great outdoors. The festival is organised by the Cambridge Nature Network in conjunction with South Cambs District Council to get people back into nature.
With over 80 events, there is something for all ages, abilities and interests. Get stuck into hands-on creative activities, embark on nature walks, enjoy live music and BioBlitzes. There are even bat punt safaris! Most events are free or priced affordably and will take place in Cambridge and the surrounding countryside.
Natalie Lambert, Cambridge Nature Network Officer outlines her hopes for the future: “You don’t have to go far to find nature and wildlife in Cambridge, and the festival aims to celebrate this and get us all more in touch with the amazing natural world on our doorsteps. The festival is being organised by the Cambridge Nature Network, which is a partnership of organisations working hard to increase the amount of nature in our area. We are hoping to inspire people to discover more about nature and to create such a great buzz (pun intended) that we all want to do it again next year!”
“It’s so important to enthuse younger generations and those young at heart to learn about the wildlife and greenspaces on their doorstep”, Natalie says, “and this is a great opportunity to do that.”
The festival kicks off with a Wildlife Day at Wandlebury Country Park on 29 May.
