Tribute to US servicemen who died in conflict
Take time out on 11 and 12 November to reflect on the American men and women who not only served to bring freedom, but died for that cause, who are commemorated at Cambridge American Cemetery.
The 11 November is known as Veterans Day in the United States and is not a day of remembrance in the British sense. According to the US Department of Veteran Affairs: “The purpose of Veterans Day is as a ccelebration to honour America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.”
This year, the official ceremony for the day at the Cambridge cemetery is 10 November. All are welcome, be seated by 10.45am, for 11am start.
