One of Cambridgeshire’s most iconic natural beauty spots has unveiled a brand-new community hub.
The Waterfront at Grafham Water, previously known as the visitor centre, has undergone an extensive refurb, now boasting a soft play area and revamped cafe.
The cafe will be serving up an enticing menu of delicious bites along with barista-style coffee, all available while the children happily wile away the hours in the air-conditioned indoor play zone, built with specialist input from House of Play.
The Waterfront launch is part of Grafham Water’s (operated by Anglian Water Parks) 60th anniversary celebrations, marking six decades of fishing, cycling, sailing, walking and nature watching at England’s third largest reservoir, with SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) status.
Commenting on The Waterfront opening, Angela Tarry, general manager, south, Anglian Water Parks said: “Grafham Water is already a renowned family hub but to a large extent we are fairly weather dependent as the existing play facilities for children such as the sandpit, giant jumping pillow, climbing frame, cycling and mini golf course are all outside.
“The new indoor play area is available year-round and represents an inviting leisure attraction regardless of whether it is pouring with rain or the temperatures soar. We hope that The Waterfront will evolve to become a recognised meeting place for families and friends to socialise, providing a safe and secure venue within a stunning natural landscape.”
