Steak & Honour opens the doors at new location

Burger pioneer Steak & Honour has opened a brand-new restaurant on Mill Road. Following the closure of its Wheeler Street location in 2025, founders Leo and Charley Riethoff are setting down new roots with a neighbourhood-style restaurant at the former ABC Barbecue site, right next door to sister restaurant Buren.

The restaurant will feature a refreshed take on the Steak & Honour experience, with burgers served on plates, table service, shakes and a menu that continues to spotlight local suppliers and producers. Fans can expect the brand’s signature favourites – juicy patties, crispy fries and plenty of attention to detail – in a relaxed, sit-down setting designed for both everyday meals and weekend gatherings.

“This new space is about evolving while staying true to what’s always made Steak & Honour special – simple, high-quality burgers made with local produce,” said Leo. “Mill Road has such an incredible independent spirit, and we have been welcomed so warmly into the community.”

Brighter, fresher flavours are celebrated in the new spring/summer menu at Browns Brasserie & Bar on Trumpington Street in Cambridge.

Designed for relaxed lunches, long evenings and everything in between, new starters include asparagus and poached egg with hollandaise and crispy leeks, while seafood is the flavour of the season for mains, with a line-up of Cornish sole served with sautéed baby potatoes and clam and pancetta butter; miso-glazed salmon with a crispy sushi rice cake, shimeji mushrooms and mushroom dashi and Butterfield sea bass with Isle of Wight tomatoes, Nocellara olives and charred lemon.

Other highlights include the duo of lamb, with a tender lamb fillet and crispy lamb bonbon served with pommes Anna, pancetta and a red wine jus and the risotto verde of asparagus, courgette, peas and basil pesto. Multi celebration for Mill Road restaurant

A popular local eatery has been crowned best contemporary Indian restaurant 2026 for Cambridgeshire, as it celebrates a decade in business on Mill Road.

Prana Indian Restaurant

Prana Indian Restaurant, led by owner Kobir Ahmed, received the accolade at the Luxlife Restaurant and Bar Awards 2026, marking a huge milestone for the business which first opened its doors in 2016.

Kobir said the recognition reflects both the hard work behind the scenes and the resilience required to sustain a restaurant in today’s climate. “We’re very proud to win this award, especially in the current environment. It isn’t easy running a restaurant right now, and many great businesses haven’t made it through. This isn’t just a celebration, it’s a reflection of resilience, consistency and the support we’ve had from the community.”

Marking the ten-year milestone, the restaurant has released a family image showing three generations behind the business – Kobir Ahmed alongside his father, Mohammad Quadir, and his eldest son, Rizwan Ahmed. The image reflects the restaurant’s journey, from its early beginnings to becoming an established name within Cambridge’s dining scene.

Alongside the award, Prana is also celebrating another significant achievement: maintaining a five-star food hygiene rating for ten consecutive years, following its most recent inspection by an environmental health officer (EHO).

As it enters its next chapter, the restaurant says it remains focused on maintaining standards while continuing to adapt to the evolving challenges facing the hospitality sector. “We are proud of what we have achieved over the last ten years, but we know the work doesn’t stop here,” said Kobir.
