Curious about vegan food? Whether you’re already vegan or not considering the switch but want tasty food, there’s an eclectic mix of all things vegan at Ely Markets annual Vegan and Vintage Fair this May Day bank holiday weekend.
Try Sri Lankan curry or Food by Lizzi’s Scotch Eggless. There’s meat-free burgers, delicious cakes and away from food you can browse vegan beauty products and ethical clothing.
“You don’t have to be vegan to appreciate it,” says Julia Davis, of Ely Markets . “We’ve got delicious food and drink that will please everyone. Our markets have a great reputation for vegan food. We’re bringing together local foodie favourites with food and producers from all over the region.
“For street food fans there’s a vegan burger van, wraps, samosas and curry, plus vegan-friendly coffee, tea and cake, and a bar at Market Place.”
Food and produce will be on Dolphin Lane and vintage stalls on the main Market Place. Retro-inspired stalls include vintage and upcycled furniture, collectables, clothes and records.
“This year there’ll be everything from retro lamps to 1950s-style dresses and vinyl,” says Julia. “People love the combination of delicious food and quirky stalls.”
There will also be traditional bank holiday market stalls and children’s entertainment. The fair takes place on Sunday and Monday, 6 and 7 May, from 10am to 4pm.
