A local restaurant is hosting a business networking reception to raise money for charity. On 5 November, La Cucina in St. Ives will open its doors to local businesses in support of the Mayor of St. Ives’ chosen charities: the Dementia Café and Memory Lane Singalong Café, and the 2nd St. Ives Sea Scouts. Guests will receive a glass of wine on arrival, then enjoy a selection of antipasti, whilst exchanging ideas.
The event is being organised by three local networking groups, St. Ives Business Lounge, Huntingdon Business Network and the A14 Informal Networking Group. Ed Goodman, co-founder of St. Ives Business Lounge, says: “This is a great opportunity for people from local businesses to get together for an informal night of networking and fantastic food and wines. And of course it has the added benefit of raising money for some really worthwhile local charities.”
The Dementia Café is run by the Alzheimer’s Society and takes place at the Free Church in St. Ives on the third Tuesday of every month. The Memory Lane Singalong Café is run at the Crossways Christian Centre, Ramsey Road on the second Monday of each month. And it’s hoped the Sea Scouts will be able to use the funds to improve their facilities and offer wider activities to more youth groups.
Sister to the highly successful La Cucina St. Neots, the newly-opened restaurant in St Ives is already receiving excellent reviews for its authentic Italian fare. Live music will be played on the night too, as part of a regular Thursday night feature. Entry is £5.
