Every year around 25 November, students and staff at the University of Cambridge don their glad rags, put their festive playlists on full blast and dive headlong into the spirit of Christmas.
Colloquially known as Bridgemas, and coinciding with the final week of the University term, this early celebration allows students to celebrate Christmas with friends they may not get to see over the holidays. For many, one of the highlights of the festivities is Bridgemas Formal, a three-course meal hosted by each college in its main hall, which is a predictably merry – and enjoyably chaotic – affair.
This year, Parker’s Tavern is hosting its very own Bridgemas festivities, allowing you to celebrate Christmas early with your friends in Cambridge. Taking place on 25 November, you can expect to enjoy a full festive menu with a twist, including crispy fried British brie with a homemade Cumberland sauce, roast turkey with curry gravy, and a flaming gin and juniper Christmas pudding.
Tickets cost £65 per adult or £32.50 per child – booking is essential. Visit parkerstavern.com to peruse the entire menu and secure your place at the table!
