Wren Kitchens Design Director, Darren Watts, reveals his top three kitchen trends

1. Raw materials

The use of raw materials that are rich in tones and textures will continue to rise in popularity. Especially nature-inspired colours – and patinas such as marble, copper, concrete, slate and rust – offer a unique aesthetic.

2. Bold and opulent cabinets

Dark kitchen cabinets give an elegant, luxurious look, with a little drama. Dark blacks, forest greens and blueberry blues are popular. Pare it back with neutral tiles, paint finishes or exposed bricks so your space isn’t overpowered.

3. Statement taps

There’s a vast array of styles of taps to make your sink a focal point. From elegant swan necks and edgy square necks to traditional brass and industrial taps with interesting features – it’s an inexpensive way to draw the eye and create a statement.
