These Cambridge-based home designers can counter your kitchen blues with exceptional UK and German styles
For many, the kitchen is the beating heart of the home; facilitator of tea-fuelled chats, host to Bake Off-worthy creations and the place where many fond memories are made. Redesigning a kitchen, it’s fair to say, is rarely associated with such nostalgic claims. One of the most disruptive home renovations, you need to be sure you’re in safe hands before ripping out essential appliances. But choose wisely, and you could have the kitchen of your dreams.
Inspired Kitchens aims to make the revamp as pain-free as possible, offering bespoke designs that cater to every need – from improving an awkward layout, to creating smart storage solutions and adding that all-important wow factor.
Run by a relatively small team – spearheaded by Wayne Chrzanowski, who also runs partner business Ely Planning Company – you will be looked after by the same person throughout the project, from initial design meetings through to installation and completion.
We make sure people get exactly what they want and know what’s happening every step of the way.
“We pride ourselves on the quality of service we offer,” says Aiden Holmes, kitchen sales manager. “In bigger places, you often end up dealing with lots of different people. Because we’re a small company, we focus on customer service, making sure people get exactly what they want and know what’s happening every step of the way.”
With a wide array of styles, colours and high-quality materials on offer, Inspired Kitchens can design to suit any space, be it a new build or period home. “We’ve got a couple of ranges, including one by Schüller (the second-biggest German kitchen manufacturer), offering over 60 different types of doors and colours. They are fantastic and meticulous about what they do,” explains Aiden. “Our UK range tends to cater more for traditional and Shaker-style spaces, while our German kitchens are usually more contemporary in style – but we can create fully bespoke designs with either collection.” Past briefs have seen all-singing, all-dancing ovens; a five-metre-long island for a new extension; and one particularly inspired concept with a hidden pantry, accessed via a concealed door in one of the cabinets.
After making your initial choices and once the space has been measured, Inspired Kitchens will create highly photographic rendered images to help you visualise the end result: “We can get really detailed, adding pictures of our customers’ artwork, or even their dogs!”
Once the final designs have been approved, Inspired Kitchens will take care of the rest, working with local fitters and suppliers such as Rock & Co, Ivett & Reed and Clear Glass to ensure seamless installation. Regular site visits ensure everything goes smoothly – leaving you with a fabulous new kitchen, but without the stress!
Inspired Kitchens opens its new showroom later this year, where there will be a selection of seven kitchens present, to help spark ideas for your own creation. To find out more, organise a visit, or see examples of past projects, head to inspiredkitchenscambridge.co.uk
