Prepare to be swept away by great orchestral music as the Corn Exchange’s Orchestral Series returns for its 2022-23 season
A treat for the ears awaits at Cambridge Corn Exchange this month, as the Philharmonia Orchestra performs Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2, with a special guest appearance from acclaimed violinist Sayaka Shoji, followed by Sibelius’s second symphony on 19 September.
The concert kicks off the 2022-23 Orchestral Series, which will draw extraordinary musicians from around the world to the Cambridge Corn Exchange for five unforgettable performances between now and next March.
Audiences can look forward to music by Shor, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov with the Malta Philharmonic on 1 December, followed by Holst, Mozart, Haydn and Bartók with the European Union Chamber Orchestra on 6 December.
On 14 Feb, savour the sound of Khachaturian, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
The series concludes with a performance of Linde and Tchaikovsky by the Swedish Philharmonia on 22 March 2023.
