R and F Weddings Vanessa Harness on what to think about when changing your wedding plans

From floristry to musical entertainment, there are a number of areas which can be easily forgotten when it comes to changing your wedding plans. Years of experience has taught me that it’s all of the small separate elements that go into creating those lasting memories, so despite the restrictions, you just need to be more creative about how you do things! Setting the right mood and ambience with your background entertainment and décor – such as a harpist with expansive florals and candlelight – can really change up how a venue looks and feels, and will still have your guests wowed and amazed.

Maintaining social distancing and wearing masks is a very clinical approach during what should be a very emotive day, and making guests feel comfortable is a challenge. Most of us are acclimatised to the measures now, so one idea is to have personalised masks made just for your wedding day, as they embrace the situation (and personalised masks make for a great ice breaker for anyone who is nervous about attending). Also – as you are limited with your guest numbers – do not overlook that you can live stream the ceremony to friends and family with a smartphone so that nobody misses out.
